UA, F9, and WN all serve DEN-BNA non-stop; currently there are 8 nonstop flights per day among the three carriers.
Additionally, since F9 uses A319 and WN uses B737, there are a lot of seats in this market, probably difficult for UA to justify larger aircraft.
As for the OP's question, only a very unusual situation would see a swap.
