As others have noted, forward seating in CO's economy section is meaningless in terms of comfort or service as all coach seats, except some exit and bulkhead ones, are exactly the same--very hard and tight. If you have a close connection being forward gets you off the plane faster. In addition, standby and late check-in pax are often assigned forward seats as are families with small children.
