SJD airfare seems pricey to me for what I've always considered a spring break spot for rich west coast college kids.

What about the W=A El San Juan or Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza? Or even one of the two W=A properties on the north side of the island? The addition of a Casino would go over well also, but not a must. Airfare is dirt cheap and direct. There's no currency exchange or passport worries. There's clean beach as well as urban are that's not completely without some history and culture.

We've done a couple of short trips away from the kids (including this past weekend here in ATL with a nice upgrade to the Townhouse Suite at the Hilton Atlanta Downtown). I don't think distance away from the kids will be a major concern for either of us as they will be in good hands.
