When I saw SIN, my head thought Shanghai for some reason... that's the only reason I mentioned a Chinese Visa.

Looking at Bali vs. Bora Bora, I'm actually not seeing a huge difference in airfare, so it may just be exchange rate that makes the difference. I haven't checked the LCC option, but going into HKG or SIN is already within $300 of a full mainline ticket to Bali or Bora Bora.

That said, I'm definitely interested in what you guys would consider the best of the Caribbean and Latin America. One of the WAs or Conrad in Puerto Rico has me wondering if that would be at all comparable, especially since local culture isn't my wife's forte (though shopping is). With airfare being roughly 1/8 that of Bora Bora or Bali, it's a major consideration.
