To find sites outside of Marriott, do a google search to locate travel booking sites like hotels.com, expedia.com etc.

But before you start, Just make sure you read and understand the terms of the LNF/BRG completely; for example, the rooms must match exactly; it must be a publicly available rate, it cannot be a prepaid or voucher rate, etc etc. It is easy to get shot down if you don't check all the details before you file.

It also pays to use some logic - if you are finding a $89 rate, how much cheaper are you really going to find it? At some point the few dollars saved is not worth the time and effort it takes!

And it is time consuming - but can be worth doing. I filed this week for NYC; the Marquis showed $459; I found it for $399. 25% off of $399 is $299; which was confirmed via BRG. Per night = $160; I am there for 4 nights: total saving $640 +.

But I will also say that I have just as much (if not more) luck really checking Marriott's own codes....it is pretty amazing what pops up. I found a rate for my sister: DC downtown, Res Inn - $79. It didn't qualify for BRG because it required AAA - but it did not come up under a regular search; and ended up cutting her rate by almost half.

And if you can find a publicly available rate through the marriott website using codes on which you can file a LNF? Jackpot!
