Just flew SYD-HNL and quickly realized that about 80% of the crew were Thai based. Sitting at the exit row I struck up a conversation with the FA. He said his favorite thing about the job was seeing the world -- and his favorite destination -- "anywhere outside of thailand." He did paint a very crazy picture of their work schedule though. He said they were extremely lucky to get a 2 day break in Hawaii -- as they usually work something like 18-20 days straight away from home (BKK) with usually no more than a 24 hr break between flights. He was looking forward to sleep but still had a big smile on his face. I don't know how these guys do it -- but clearly there is a big class system @ play with the AUS based FAs being the flight supervisors and the BKK FAs getting paid pennies and worked like dogs.
