I agree as well...to the point where I think the Fly-By lanes are a bigger benefit to me than early boarding. Since I travel with just a laptop case on short sub-500 mile flights 99% of the time, seat selection has become less important to me.

There's definitely a lot of value in spending less time waiting in the airport and being able to cherry-pick the row with the empty middle in Secret FC or at least pick your seatmate on a full flight.
