I wish I could have done more during the two days/two nights in Shanghai. Unfortunately, my stomach just was not feeling well enough for me to get out too much. Day times were spent speaking at a conference, and I only had one night out taking the night photos here. The second night has a dinner meeting with a prospective client at Xintiandi.

Shanghai is a wonderful city to visit. It is multicultural, metropolitan, and with a storied past. It is growing and moving so fast.

I encourage anyone who has not been there in the past three years to make a stop there. Although it is not a hub for any of the global alliances, FTers can eaisly find flights on all three global alliances serving Shanghai.

The fifth stop of my five-consecutive weeks of business travel is Mainz, Germany. I took a week family vacation after the meeting to tour other German cities (Berlin, Munich, Castle/Lake region), and experiencing the German autobahn in a rented Mercedes between Berlin and Munich. I don't think I will do a photo trip report on my Germany trip anytime soon as I am still sorting out the 3,000+ photos I took during the trip.

I know FTers are mostly only interested in planes, lounges and hotels part of the trip reports, but I do encourage anyone to spend that one extra day seeing and learning about the destinations of your mileage run trips or leisure flights for no purposes.

Life is too short to worry about airline status or flying. Go out to see the world while you have the freedom and time to do it.
