Could BA send an e-mail to remind you your passport was expiring? Possibly, but when should it do it? Six months before, one month before, day of expiry?

"I didn't get an e-mail from BA about my passport expiring, so I didn't know I needed a new passport.."

Just seems to be one of those things that need to occur to one at the time they receive a new passport - I have to update my ESTA, have to update my airline profiles, have to scan a copy in case I lose it, have to...

Bear in mind that British nationals can enter the UK on an expired passport - they may not be able to enter another country but they may be able to leave one to go back to the UK - and be let in, with probably just a few extra questions.
