Out of date passport in BAEC profile populates API data
I booked a flight for Christmas to NYC the other day and the passeneger information was automatically uploaded from the details we have previously provided in our BAEC accounts. For some reason, I decided to check it, and noticed that my wife's passport details were her old ones! I then checked our upcoming flight to Miami on Wednesday and noticed that had her old passport details in it too (the passport expires on the day that we fly, but is obviously out of date for our return).
I managed to change the information for all her future bookings (after a number of attempts with various errors), but couldn't do it for Wednesday's booking - maybe because the details had already been sent. In the end, I called YouFirst who sorted it out. I have also got her a new ESTA.
No real complains about my outgoing flight this week, as technically the passport was valid, but why does the BA website allow the information to be prepopulated with out-of-date passport details for my flight in December - surely this is an easy check for the back-office systems to make?
