My wife and I just got back from 4 days at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe. We were upgraded to a Regency Club room on the 12th floor (top floor). I'd rate the room as average. It was a nice size, but the only windows are off to one side of the room and have dark wood plantation shutters. That makes the room a bit dark. Our view was of the pool area and the mountains in the background.

We had a AAA Diamond rate which included breakfast in the Sierra Cafe. It was good for either the breakfast buffet or $21 per person on the menu. It included tax and gratuity on that amount. The buffet had a omlet bar with a wide selection of items plus typical breakfast buffet items (pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit, oatmeal, muffins and other pastries, etc.) We sat outdoors on their deck each morning, which was a very nice place to eat. They had heaters that could be turned on when the weather was too cool.

The pool was fairly busy while we were there but the attendants did a nice job of finding available chairs when new people arrived, including moving chairs from one location to another. There were many umbrellas to provide shade as well. We enjoyed our time at the pool. There is an excellent kiddie pool in a separate fenced area and a playground area. There is also a firepit which was lit every evening.

We also enjoyed the private beach, which is a short walk from the main building. The staff sets up chairs and umbrellas as people arrive. It's a nice place to spend the day. The floating dock is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. Note that the bar on the deck closes a few minutes before sunset because they don't have lights on the dock and they have to haul all the liquor from the deck back up to the main building.

We found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful, although the front desk staff seemed to have many inexperienced people, although they did their best to be helpful as well.

We had dinner two nights at the Lone Eagle Grill, which has great views of the lake and excellent food (in our opinion), but it is expensive. We really enjoyed the service we received there also.

We also had a couples massage at the spa. The room had a fireplace that made it an even better place for a massage. The relaxation area was also very nice, with comfortable chairs, a fireplace and a TV with ESPN.

Overall we loved our stay, hated to have to leave, and look forward to going back.
