Barcky- thanks for the link. I checked and our carseat is approved. It should be noted that the cost of her seat is equal to our monthly mortgage payment and more than 2 weeks of my pay. If it were up to me entirely we wouldn't be going at all. But my husbands family has never seen our daughter. I'm really trying to determine to possiblity of there being an available seat.
i'm sorry but i am of the philosophy that if you can't afford a seat, you can't afford the trip. It makes me so mad that people are willing to rationalize away the comfort of strangers in the best interest of their own wallets- esp. on a flight of that length as if it's all about them
As a mother of a 3 month old and 2.5 year old, I think the airline should forbid car seats on board if the seat hasn't been paid for because I think it has snowballed into an outrageous sense of entitlement on parents' parts as if THEY deserve it because they have a kid whereas the tall dude who could use the extra legroom to "diagonal" his legs is less important or the next guy or the next guy, knowwhat I mean?
