A dispensing fee, in Sask, is ~$8. So, Aeroplan miles could be acquired for $0.008/each. Not a bad deal, especially if one externalizes that cost onto an employer or (probably not for many of us) a public drug plan.
how do you "transfer your prescription" ?
Take your prescription bottle, which shows valid refills on the label, to your new pharmacy of choice. They will call your old pharmacy, and initiate the transfer process. This can be done an unlimited number of times for Schedule F medications (labelled "Pr"),
once for benzodiazepines (labelled "T/C"), or not at all for the nartotics (labelled "N").
Benzos and other Schedule 4 prescriptions expire within 6 months of issuance. Most other prescriptions can be refilled for a maximum of 1 year after the doctor has written the prescription, up to the number of refills authorized.
