Barcky- thanks for the link. I checked and our carseat is approved. It should be noted that the cost of her seat is equal to our monthly mortgage payment and more than 2 weeks of my pay. If it were up to me entirely we wouldn't be going at all. But my husbands family has never seen our daughter. I'm really trying to determine to possiblity of there being an available seat. I think we could cope with the worst case scenario if there is not a seat available (I mean people DO take their children this way all the time, right?) I checked similar flights on delta leaving ATL this Tues eve. connecting in JFK and on to Prague and it showed 9+ seats still available. Same for a Tuesday midmonth next month. It says on Deltas website that they will accomodate a lap infant in a seat if one is available. But thats a big IF.
I am also considering flying KLM. THey connect in Amsterdam not JFK. But I am wondering if it will be a Delta flight in the end anyway since they are affiliated. No sense in paying more for the same thing. Which carrier is more likely to be full?
