I slightly disagree with the above. I believe that if on one ticket, the domestic sector usually books into J fare bucket as part of a WTP longhaul return. Therefore this would yield 190 tier points rather than 160. Also useful for getting lounge access before the shorthall sectors only if you have no status and can't find MFU availability.
