I am assuming we are talking 767's? I had this unfortunate experience twice..once YOW-YVR, once YVR YYZ. I payed full J Class for each of these trips, only to get this terrible equipment. I was also told it came from Chile. The 'Salidas' overhead signage and wafer thin seat cushions tipped me off.
Also only had TWO FA for the entire J Class cabin. Service went up down one aisle up the other....took forever to get anything. In fact, I recall one FA telling me to wait until they had finished their crew meals before I could get a drink...
I complained to AC about lack of French language signage and susbstitution of normal AC metal with third world maintained equipment....they offered 2000 points per instance or 75$ voucher.
I took the vouchers, although I am still bitter and will never forget this experience.

Last night enroute to MEX for my final MHD, I aborted the run and headed back to YYZ from LAX. (muscle spasm). All was fine until I connected to my YHZ flight in TO. It was the ugliest plane interior I have ever seen.
The J class seats were powder blue crushed velvet, all the signage was in Spanish, most of the plastic (bins etc.) looked as though they had 20 years of accumulated dirt on them. Grotty to say the least. It was a 767 , I think from CP, as they used CP china for the meals.
Anyone know where this thing came from and why it is so hideous compared to the normal, boring AC offering?</font>
