Ok, so here is my report.

United 787. 8 July, YVR-SFO 19:12.

I checked the flight's status on united.com at 16:15 from the hotel and the flight reported ontime. I printed my boarding pass at the United kiosk at 17:20 and was at my gate at 17:40. The very end of the concourse where UA is located was quiet.

I carried on only, and my BP was selected for SSSS. There were not more than 4 or 5 people in line for security. I declined the nude-o-scope and opted for the pat down. They did not look trough my bags, they simply swabbed me and the bags for explosives. The extra security took maybe 2-3 more minutes. They didn't even take me aside as there were so few people going through security. The screeners were very polite and professional.

Customs had probably 5 windows open. The same 4-5 people either at window or walking toward one. Otherwise pre-clearance was a ghost town. The CPB officer had plenty of questions for me as they usually do, but this time they finally didn't ask anything that was inappropriate or immediately give me the third degree after saying hello. I suppose Canada mellows these officers out. They spoke to me like a respectful adult.

They took my Customs dec and sent me on to the gate. There did not even appear to be a place to hold a customs inspection.

The flight left a few minutes late and arrived maybe a few minutes behind schedule. Pilot made a perfect landing. Short flight but a truly beautiful day for flying.

Cheers,
