In my youth Corona and "Coronitas" (6 ounce bottles) were (with Cruz Blanca) the bargain priced "low end" Mexican beers. The painted labels for cheap rebottling were a tip off. Served free on one of the Mexican airlines and popular among Border Town brothel-keepers/club owners mexicans of any sophistication avoided the brand.

Hauling Coors from Colorado (the 3.2, purchasable at 18) was a profitable enterprise as early as the late 1950s.

The seeming popularity of Bud (and Bud Light) in the UK and Ireland remains inexplicable.

The Corona licensed importer also owns the Spoetzl brewery in metro Shiner, TX.
