Depends on the airport and the security guys

I had a similar pair of scissors confiscated at BFS although they had travelled quite happily in carryon from LGW to AMS and back and from LGW to BFS without any comment from security....

Mind you - the security staff at BFS are totally inflexible and humourless. I had fogotten a tiny little bottle of moisturiser was in my handbag as I went through security so it wasn't in the baggie with the rest of my cosmetics... My bag was emptied on the counter to find it and after it was removed and the clutter put back in the bag was rescanned - but my poor wee bottle of Clinique moisturiser was confiscated - and binned - even though it must have been obvious that its omission from the bag was a simple oversight. I never did work out why I couldn't have it back - even though I actually demonstrated that it was indded what it said by putting some on my face in their presence....
