I am a 1k flyer on United. I booked a flight for my family using a combination of miles and $. In attempting to cancel that reservation, I am being told that in order to get a refund on the miles and charges, I have to pay $150 per passenger penalty fee, which far exceeds what I paid in the first place. Anyone else run into this insanity? At this point, I am going to keep the reservation just to prevent United from reselling the seats!
