In your case, I would probably go with an Embassy Suites or Homewood Suites in which you can book a 1-bedroom suite. This gives you a sitting area in the evenings with a loveseat & chair, along with a TV instead of having to sit on the beds. Nicer area to get up have coffee in the morning too, especially if one of you gets up earlier. Also, depending on the age of your son, we usually left our boys up in the living room when we went to bed. They tend to stay up longer than us to watch TV and gives some privacy too.
I think the above says it all and is good advice. Having two small children, we prefer ES or Homewood. Plenty of area to spread out and the kids sleep on the pullout sofa and we can retreat to the bedroom, shut the door and watch some TV at night.
