Back in the day (2001?) I jumpseated on a BA 767 from about 20W all the way into landing in CLT. Thinking about it now I was not worried about the lack of on-board service upfront due to the excitement. The crew and I had a wonderful discussion about many things (not exclusivly aircraft related). We had a faulty APU which delayed our departure from Gatwick by an hour. I remember when we got to CLT the ground crew were not prepared for this and we ended up on stand with the no2 engine running for a few minutes while the ground crew faffed around.
Perhaps BA should consider charging to reserve the jump seat; might even be more popular than 64A
