AA Gold = OW Ruby... which is the lowest tier elite status. No lounge access, and I believe there isn't much additional benefit either on LAN. So, I'd just keep SPG points in your account and use it for hotel stays.

Converting about 100k Starwood points would get me lifetime Gold AAdvantage status now. I don’t have any immediate plans for the Starwood points, but from a redemption point of view not in need of more AAdvantage miles to burn in the immediate future. So the primary motivation of pulling the trigger now would simply be the Gold status.
What are the possible perks of being AAdvantage Gold when flying LAN?
Other thoughts/suggestions?
