Another one in MFR to be avoided: the Quality Inn, smelly, older, and the rudest front desk employees I met in a long time.

And a good one at LAX: the Comfort Inn Cockatoo. Hawthorne is not supposed to be the best area near the airport (or so I was told by a friend who lives in LA), but the hotel itself is new (became a Comfort Inn a year or so ago), clean, relatively quiet (at least the two times we were there), and perfectly adequate for a cheaper airport hotel (certainly better than the other Comfort Inn in Inglewood).
