CAlex I agree that if you are going to the Maldives you have to be ready to spend top USD, but you may try to do it "low profile"(otherwise I could not afford it), flying with miles and using the Hilton Reward Certificates
Yes - that's how I did it....135K miles for 2 people in business class TLV-VIE-MLE, 205K Hilton points for 7 nights at the Conrad, and total of around $1200 bill at the Conrad for the week - including $800 for transfers! It doesn't need to be too expensive....
