I arrived on a long-delayed flight about 2:30 a.m. The system had charged me that night as a "no-show" but I was also charged the normal rate for each night I stayed there after check-in, including (what was left of) that first night.
I had a similar incident
I was taking the red eye and had a 6 a.m. arrival and wanted a room so I booked the room the night before, made a note in my reservation, called the hotel after the reservation was made, called the hotel the a.m. prior (when I would be checking in time hoping to get the same people) and on the plane just before departure.. all assured me my room would be waiting and It wouldn't get cancelled
guess what, it was cancelled as a no show, it was charged as a no show and I didn't get the room.. eventually the refund was made but I never went back to that property which I had spent many a night.. that was a few years ago and to this day, I've never set foot in that place again
