According to seatexpert, AA 738 F has 39-40" pitch, AS 738 F has only 36-38" The older AA 738(16/132) has DC power, and old TV monitors down the asile, new ones (16/144) have AC power and drop down LCDs. 757s are the worst of the bunch here.
However, it looks like seatexpert is showing the AA 738 prior to its reconfiguration to add 12 more seats, which was partially achieved through eliminated a rear galley, and partially through reduction in legroom.
The reconfigured AA 738s (16 F/144 Y) are basically the identical configuration to AS 738s (16/141), except that AS replaced three Y seats in the back with an extra lav, hence three fewer seats in Y, and AS has a soft bulkhead between F and Y, versus a hard bulkhead on AA. Therefore, I would suspect the seat pitch in F is pretty comparable between AS and the reconfigured AA birds, since the two are using essentially identical seat configurations.
Laptop power: as mentioned by others, yes on AA, no on AS.
For IFE, AS has the digeplayer with 11 on demand movies, prerecorded TV, music, a few games and special programs. I'm pretty sure the transcons all have the newer version, called the digeplayer XT. This is complimentary in F. On AA, there is just the drop down screens, and the audio channels.
Meals...I haven't flown AA in F in a long time, so can't compare. AS does a proper three course meal on transcons with menus. Portions can be a bit small, but the quality is usually decent. I'm pretty sure AS has a more limited catering budget than does AA.
