I realise that I am still in a very privileged position to be able to go into the flight deck during the flight and on occasions for take off and landing too...
Indeed you are! Before 09/11, I was often invited to the flight deck. I spent over 6 hours in thee on a Seattle trip on one occasion getting some very useful IFE tips for Microsoft's Flight Simulator.
Since 09/11, entry to the Flight Deck is rightly restricted. I can't even fly in the cockpit jump seat or even enter the pilots' office when my friend and former next door neighbour is in charge of the aeroplane.
I'm just grateful for the good times I had before and, who knows, now that I'm well established on this VCC course, I may get access to the Flight Deck again one day!
