I want to go on the flight Sunday at 2pm, now without available award seats but showing J9. I will happily pay whatever change fee - I do not care.
This is not a standby for earlier same-day flight, as technically it is a different day. Is airport standby even possible? I really need to get onto this earlier flight and will buy another ticket if I have to - I just don't want to... Would be a pity to pay an extra several hundred dollars AND loose the reward ticket (I do not think i will be able to use it in the next 360 days...)
If anyone has any recommendations, please, please, help.
Thanks.
I suppose one option would be to:
* Purchase a refundable MEX - YYZ ticket
* At the same time keep checking daily with AP to see if any seats are released and pay the $90 change fee if one opens up
* Failing that show up at the airport for your 2pm flight and use all your charm and good karma to see if they will honour your AP ticket for the 2pm flight
* If one of the two above options works you can get a refund on your purchased ticket...
* If not you'll have to bite the bullet................
Good luck!
