Given VX's annoyance of a policy to charge a change fee to take advantage of fare price drops for the same itinerary, I'm wondering if there might be a way to extend the 24-hour fee-free period to make these changes.

One way that I'm thinking about is to cancel and rebook every 24 hours (assuming the price has been stable or has decreased). A little bit of a headache, but perhaps worthwhile if prices drop significantly more than 24 hours out from the initial purchase. I'm wondering what all your thoughts are on this. I did a quick search on this forum, and I don't see that anyone has specifically addressed this.
