). For me it was the PT Cruiser and the Hyundai Sonata (just the plain-jane 4-cylinder with expired XM radio). I'd rather be getting stuck with the Fusion than either, ESPECIALLY the PT.
There are only 2 cars I will utterly refuse to take..the PT Cruiser (one left me stranded in LV 4 minutes after leaving the lot, the transmission seized) and the Chevy Cobalt. I have always been accommodated when I don't want the car. The Fusion is okay and I have no real reason to refuse it, other than being tired of it after 10 rentals in a row.
I will take the Sonata and the Caliber on trips with minimal driving..but on a multistate jaunt the car matters much much more.
Earlier this summer I got a good price from Thrifty on a "Full Size" for a trip with 400 or so miles of driving, and ended up in the Mercury Grand Marquis...holy crap, no wonder your grandfather drives dangerously..the thing is squirrley at 80, nearly impossible to stop, and is nothing but blind spots. Never again.
