Maybe this has to do with the way they calculate conversions. There is always a buy and a sell rate, they are different. Maybe they just tack on the fee they pay and use a different formal for the converstion.

Regardless it only looks to be 10% of 10% or 1% of your total hostel booking, so it probably isn't worth thinking about.
