Welcome to FT. Sorry your post was due to such circumstances. Unfortunately all the airlines accept zero responsibility for any electronics in baggage. I am guessing the same for booze. These limitations are listed in the fine print which most do not know about until it happens. Your best bet is to followup with your insurance. You might be able to get some $$.
Thank you all for the advice, I don't have homeowner's but have renter's insurance through State Farm. Hopefully they can help me, I'm crossing my fingers. I will also submit claim right away and follow through with other recommendations that long4piedmont suggested. Thanks for all the info btw!
And yes I know everyone, it was crazy to leave valuable things in the luggage. But I was in such a rush and nervous because the workers kept telling me I was going to be late for my plane (which was a lie since I was waiting for 45 min to depart in lobby, perhaps this was part of the tactic once they saw what was in my bag) so I just wasn't thinking clearly. BTW I wouldn't advise anyone go to Cancun right now. I am from Mexico and it just didn't feel safe there. Officers with rifles everywhere and resorts warning customers not to open doors for anyone just created a very scary environment. Thanks all!!! I will post when I receive updates, perhaps down the road it will help someone else!
