+1 on this.. I had a 100 peso bill switched for a 'trucho' counterfit one by a cabbie. They are very fast so I didn't even realize. This is a reason to use a radio taxi or remis if you can. Its not that the street cabs are dangerous but 'caveat emptor' and avoid them if you can.
