to PHX ground staff and flight crew last night. I was on 637 to SEA last night. The inbound flight arrived 20 minutes early. The GA's boarded 20 minutes early so that we could leave early for SEA.
Two problems arose:
1. Despite the feeble attempts at A/C, the plane was 93 degrees on board! (My watch has a thermometer.)
2. The flight crew apparently had NO intentions of leaving early. We left at the scheduled departure time.
So, we literally BAKED on the plane for nearly an hour until we finally took off and the plane cooled off.
The GA's and flight crew did a poor job of communicating. The plane shouldn't have been boarded early if the flight crew had no intention of leaving early.
I like AS but I'm not likely to fly them out of PHX again. I've never had such POOR service from US or WN. And, no, there were no maintenance personnel present and the rampers were just standing on the tarmac (114 degrees!!) texting or talking on their cell phone! So, I think the flight crew just decided that they didn't want to leave early.
