Why do you think Amex pays Quidco £60? They pay them for introducing you as a customer - instead of paying £6000 for a magazine ad that brings them 100 new card holders, they decide to pay £60 to Quidco instead. It all comes out of the marketing budget.
If Amex can show that Quidco didn't introduce you to the product - because you have already been sniffing around the Amex website - then why should they pay? To be honest, if I was Amex, I wouldn't pay out to existing cardholders at all!
Yes, I understand that, but I think they are on shaky ground if they rely on cookies which you may not have triggered. Oh well, if I don't get the £60 I'll just put it down to experience and keep one of my machines "clean" in future for applications.
