I need to revive this topic because I have a similar problem coming up this Friday. Turns out I'm arriving in LAX from ORD on 1487, which gets into LAX at 12:15 p.m. The flight to HNL (283) departs at 12:45 p.m. Should I be worried? I noticed that these last two days 1487 has gotten into LAX late, even though seeming to depart ORD pretty close to on time. Is there anything I can do proactively/strategically to insure getting to HNL on time without paying any standby fees? (To complicate the matter, I'm actually starting out at CID and traveling on an award with wife and toddler on paid tickets.) Any insights? TIA.
