What sort of things should they expect. I know that they will have to claim their luggage, and then wait for several hours.

I'm looking for some exact details so I can prep them. Is the re-checking process easy? will they need to lug their bags to a different terminal? or re-check them at the Bradley terminal?

Any advice and information is appreciated.

The $730 million TBIT renovation/construction is complete, so moving through the terminal should be seemless. Transiting to DL T5 will be an easy process. After customs, your family will see the baggage transfer desk where they can re-check their bags which should be already tagged to ATL. This desk is before they head out the exit ramp. Once out of TBIT the stroll to T5 will take approx less than 10 minutes and is a short distance. At T5 since they will already have their boarding pass for the ATL flight they can proceed straight to the security lines. There are many DL agents in the area to assist.
