I'm coming up on 500 life-to-date nights with Marriott, and I think I've ended up in a suite less than 5% of the time. I'm not complaining as I know it's not part of the program and I can think of only one or two times since I've been Platinum that I've gotten what I would call a "bad" room. In general, I have been given high floor/corner rooms, which is fine with me.
Hotels where I *have* been given a suite include:
- New York Marriott Downtown
- Renaissance Mayflower (at least a couple of times)
- Renaissance Chicago (many, many times)
- Marriott Gaslamp Quarter (one of my favorite Marriotts out there)
- Marriott Hanover, New Jersey
I can't think of any others off the top of my head. But I find that I am given large/corner rooms or rooms with a desirable view very frequently, and that keeps me plenty happy.
I'm also Hilton Diamond and Starwood Platinum. My Hilton suite upgrade percentage is even worse than Marriott; naturally, Starwood is significantly higher.
