CO doesn't pay interim expenses when they lose your bag forever
Learned a surprising fact today. CO lost my checked bag a few months back, and never found it. They pay you the value of the contents. That's it. If they do find your bag, they will pay you the 50-25-25 per day interim expenses that you encountered at your destination.
Apparently, it's in their best interest to NOT find your bag.
Find bag------> they reimburse you for not having anything to wear at your destination. And you get your stuff back sooner or later.
Don't find bag-----> You're on your own. (Wait, isn't it their fault?)
Does this sound screwy to anyone else?
