Perhaps so, and as Move Up can only be done on day of flight at the airport, the check-in or gate agent may be more accomodating to a reasonable request (no PHL-SEA-LAS, for example )

There's no obvious indication (that I know of) on the PNR that would indicate that you're on a companion ticket; I wouldn't even mention it when asking politely for Move Up at the airport!
