Alas, the end goal is for CX to improve its revenue stream. Not to make pax feel better than others. What I believe most people who complain about this fail to overlook is that HK is an incredibly transitory place, especially for expats, and many people who move to HK pick up extraordinary travel schedules. Green benefits are a way to entice someone (possibly who hasn't flown much before, or maybe who just moved to HK) into the program, and to provide some benefit for the $50 CX charges. The charge itself is a separate debate, but I suppose I don't agree with the anger (usually non-MPC) members have for the CX policy of allowing Greens to use the line. I can think of two Greens in my company who have purchased 5-7 Y class (paid B or Y subfare) round-trips HKG-PEK and PVG at about $500-900 USD each. It's not enough miles/segments to earn them Silver (although maybe CX will be nice to them), but I know plenty of OW elites....ahem, USA....who pay less than that dollar amount to their airline each year yet qualify for OW Ruby or even Sapphire! So from CX's point of view, why not? Especially if these Green's may eventually fly more and become Silvers, Golds or Diamonds?

I don't know if I speak for many CX Diamonds or Golds here, but I definitely don't mind, whether flying Y, J or F, if the line in front of me is long. I could always just show up later, or take a seat and sit tight. It goes quickly anyway.

The final point I'm not sure if people realize, but I'm not really sure how many Greens are on each flight anyway...some CX flights have an absurd amount of true elite fliers. I can think of JFK, PEK and PVG to name a few. I wrote a few weeks back about a PEK flight of mine with FORTY Diamonds alone. It wouldn't be crazy to think that flight had 80, maybe 100 SL/GO/DM members, not even including other OW elites. So that backs up the line pretty quickly, Greens or not!

Sorry for going a little OT here
