If I wanted to catch someone doing bad things, I would be as clandestine as possible.
DHS/TSA is more concerned with being visible and less about being effective.
One big issue is that every person is a point of failure. Every single one of them can get some illicit item aboard. I do agree that we're _less_ secure. (Now I need to see the movie.)
I loved this comment on the HuffPo article:
Kansas City in summer - 105 degrees and humid. Most passengers showing up in tank tops, short shorts, and flip flops. TSA pulls aside every 4th one and wands their bare arms and bare legs. I'd love to know what they were looking for.
