noise from choppers during the day and night is quite common around here, despite raf st mawgan no longer being an operational raf flying base its still used on a regular basis by all branches of the military, and its certainly not uncommon to have Chinooks and sea kings etc knocking around, either using NQY to refuel or as a base for training being carried out over devon & cornwall !

other common choppers overhead include the cornwall air ambulance (EC135) which i can assure you gets into some amazing locations, national grid and sweb use all kinds of choppers to maintain the electric grid, and of course we see plenty of activity from 771's seakings.

dont also forget the good old S61's ex ba and now with BIH based in Penzance!

Cornwall might not see much in the way of plane movements but it certain does see plenty of day and night chopper movements
