I have already exceeded the number of qpoints needed for the platinum chanllenge. However, I did not previously sign up. If I call today, will they consider what I did in the last three months and give me instant platinum credit? Or would I have to earn it over the next three months with additional travel? Anyone know the answer?</font>
Call up AAdvantage and ask to speak to someone in customer service. Once connected, ask, "I am calling to check on the status of my Platinum challenge, as I have flown XXX miles in the past X months." Agent: "Mr. Johnwhi, I don't see you signed up for any challenges." You: "But I did sign up 3 months ago, that's the whole reason why I've been on all these flights. If I'm not platinum, yet then I don't see the point of flying AA at all next year..." "Agent: OK let me see if I can make that retroactive."
Note: This will probably not work the first time, but if you play the telephone Merry Go Round game, you'll probably bump into a nice enough agent who will make you Plat or at least gold
