AA Upgrades Kiosks - Now can do standby & upgrades yourself...

The new Self-Service Check-In options allow passengers to:

1) stand by for an earlier or later flight to the same destination on the same date of travel when their ticket permits. Eligible passengers will be offered up to three alternate flights to choose from, and connecting segments are included.
2) upgrade to the next cabin using AAdvantage electronic upgrades, once it has been verified that passengers have sufficient upgrades in their accounts.

From now until Dec. 31, 2002, first-time Self-Service Check-in users will receive 500 AAdvantage bonus miles when they check in at the machines.

Ok, the question is: While they still charge the $100 standby fee if you use the kiosk?
