It's definitely not the international configuration. And, yes, we could survive. As I originally, stated, it is just plain frustrating. Our reservations were the very first ones for this flight and I had picked the seats I wanted. I know seats aren't guaranteed but what exactly was the point of splitting up our family? Whoever is in 2B is right in the middle of my family. When the plane configuration changed, why would the computer assign that person that particular seat instead of leaving our group intact?

Ok... I've ranted enough. Does anyone know of a way I can get AA to change the seats in advance? If not, we'll just try to work it out at the airport.
