Note: Yes this is the RA thread and no this isn't an IC, but read on...

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes very much so
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheap room on IDEX1 for two nights. Then something unfortunate happened in South Africa meaning I unexpectedly needed to stay Sunday night too. Booked another two nights on IDEX1 - this time an Executive Room as was that or 'standard room' which I wagered might have meant accessible or smoking.
Emailed hotel in advance to have them link the reservations, hoping for the Exec room all four nights but no such luck. Pressed a little (they had Executive rooms available the first two nights, and it would have mean an U/G for just two nights) and compromised paying a little extra to U/G first res to Exec room. From there was upgraded to a 'suite' which in reality was an Executive King with Kitchenette but was actually perfect for our stay.
- How are the rooms?
Not exactly what you'd call a suite, for sure (though they call it such.) It was a large Exec room with decent working area (though NO power outlets, had to trail cables from behind the TV) and separate bath/shower in the bathroom. All very clean and kitchenette had Microwave, fridge, sink and enough tea/coffee/sugar to sink a ship.
- How is the exec. lounge?
N/A
- What was good and what was bad?
^
- good upgrade despite initial misgivings.
- recognised on checkin as RA! Told that as a result I was given the suite u/g and complimentary minibar. I only actually had one mini-bottle of white over the whole four nights but as promised it wasn't on the bill.
- What was actually about the best RA welcome platter I've had (lovely fruit bowl, hand-written note from GM and a not-at-all-bad bottle of red) and not even at an IC!
- complimentary newspaper of my choice, rather than the seemingly standard Independent-or-pay elsewhere.

not a lot, just noisy A/C in the room and needlessly complex parking rates (£5 per 24hrs=good, but extra £5 for each time you have your ticket validated to leave car park during stay)
- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Very good IDEX1 rate indeed, especially for RA treatment at a Holiday Inn and if it posts as qualifying then even happier.[/QUOTE]
