I don't want to be a kill joy here but I wouldn't wear shorts on any flight. Or flip flops/sandals. Only because if something happens, I want to be able to get out of the aircraft with shoes on and wearing something as fire retardant as possible.

Personally, I couldn't care less what people wear in whatever class they travel.

SQ changed the dress code of their in flight staff after their "mishap" in Oct 2000 - where SQ006 charged down the wrong runway at Taiwan and killed 83 of 179 pax.
