1. Does this signify that in Feb 03 there may be a three class of service plane flying to HNL from ORD? (add anything you may know about STL too please).

2. If I changed my tickets to end up on a three class plane - would I end up in Business Class as my award tickets are only good for 1 class of service above Coach? Or would my seat assignment hold because they are three class flights sold as two class?

1) You can check easily to determine if AA is flying a 3-class configured aircraft by going into "Check Available Seats" and putting in the flight info. If you see, starting at the front, a 2-1-2 config, followed by 2-2-2, followed by 2-3-2, then you know it is a 3-class aircraft. There is NO guarantee that AA will continue to operate 3-class aircraft to Hawaii for any length of time, as the aircraft it regularly operates are the unusual 2-class 767s.

2) AA does not provide Flagship 3-class service to Hawaii. So, the J cabin (if there is one) will be for premium Y pax, and your domestic F award tickets will land you an actual F seat. The only caution I would mention is that the international 3-class 767s have only 9 seats in F, while the Hawaii-configured ones have 30. So, the chances are not high that you'd be able to get an F award seat (PlanAAhead, that is). Depending upon how full the F section is if/when they switch aircraft to a 3-class 767, they might do a "spill over" of the F section into the J seating and make all Y pax go back to the actual Y section.
